About Dr. Lance Barry
Dr. Barry attended Southern Illinois University where he graduated with honors and majored in Biology with a minor in chemistry. He graduated number 7 in his class from the William M. Scholl college of Podiatric medicine in 1990. He completed his post graduate surgical training in Atlanta at Vencor Hospital and opened his office in Cartersville in February of 1992. Dr. Barry enjoys running marathons (26.2 Miles).
Dr. Barry is a member of the 50 State Marathon Club. In order to
apply for membership in the 50 State Marathon Club you must have
completed a marathon in at least ten different states and continue
toward completing a 26.2 mile race in all 50 states. He is the
first resident of Bartow County to ever qualify for membership in
the 50 State Marathon Club. He is a veteran of the USAF where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Dr. Barry is a member of Cartersville American Legion Post #42. He was the President of the Bartow county United Way in 1994, and the
Cartersville-Bartow county Chamber of Commerce "Small Business Person of the Year" in 1995. He has authored and published multiple articles in the three major journals of his profession.
Dr. Lance D. Barry has completed the process of Triple Board Certification. This means he has met the highest standards set forth in each of the three sub-specialty areas approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association. The three sub-specialty areas include Podiatric Surgery, Podiatric Orthopedics, and Podiatric Primary Medicine. Each area has specific requirements with respect to time in practice and submission of cases as well as written and oral exams. This
accomplishment was recognized on the floor of the Georgia House of Representatives in House Resolution number 823. |
